India reports over 60,000 COVID cases for the 2nd day

India reported a single-day spike of 61,537 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 20,88,611, according to the Union health ministry’s data.
The total death toll rises to 42,518 with 933 more fatalities.
There are 6,19,088 active COVID-19 cases in India while 14,27,005 people have recovered so far.
