India reports 16,326 fresh Covid-19 cases, daily fatalities rise to 666

The number of new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in India increased marginally, with 16,326 people testing positive for the virus, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections to 34,159,562, according to data released by the Union ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) on Saturday. Daily fatalities, on the other hand, increased dramatically, climbing to 666 from 231 the day before, bringing the total death count to 453,708, or 1.33 percent of all cases, according to the data.

 

Kerala has added 563 fatalities to its overall toll, resulting in a massive increase in deaths: A message from the state health department showed 99 from Friday and 464 from the backlog. There were also 9361 new infections in the state.
