The INDIA bloc has launched its manifesto for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections presenting a comprehensive plan centered on employment welfare and development Led by Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav the coalition promised a government job for one member of every household revival of the old pension scheme and 200 units of free electricity for residents
During a packed press conference Yadav highlighted that the manifesto titled Bihar ka Tejashwi Pran represents the alliance’s vision for progress The 32-page document outlines 25 key commitments aimed at practical governance reforms Yadav emphasized that within 20 days of forming the government the INDIA bloc would introduce a new law guaranteeing employment and within 20 months an employment guarantee scheme would be fully implemented across the state
The manifesto further pledged that all contractual employees working under the Bihar government would be made permanent The plan also ensures that all Jeevika Didis women associated with self-help groups would receive permanent employment status along with a monthly salary of Rs 30,000
Focusing on economic growth the manifesto promises the establishment of IT parks special economic zones dairy and agro-based industries an education city and five new expressways across Bihar Yadav said the people of the state want a regime free from crime and corruption and will vote against the ruling NDA for a government that delivers better education healthcare employment and irrigation facilities
Yadav accused the NDA of lacking vision for Bihar claiming that the BJP has reduced Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to a mere figurehead He alleged that the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act had failed and announced that if the INDIA bloc comes to power the ban on toddy or tari would be lifted
Describing the manifesto as a roadmap for Bihar’s progress Yadav said it reflects a commitment to making the state a leading example of growth and governance Prominent leaders from the alliance including Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera CPI-ML Liberation’s Dipankar Bhattacharya and VIP party chief Mukesh Sahni attended the event The gathering featured banners displaying the photographs of key INDIA bloc leaders
Khera announced that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would join the INDIA bloc’s Bihar campaign beginning Wednesday adding momentum to the alliance’s election strategy.
