India Biotech Vaccine Becomes Superpower, Covaxine 81% Effective

ICMR and Bharat Biotech have released interim data for the Phase III trial of the vaccine. With this, covaxin has achieved a major achievement amid the ongoing vaccination campaign against corona infection. Not only this, the indigenous vaccine has proved to be 81% effective in the third stage trial of the cocaine vaccine. Dr. Balram Bhargava, Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), described it as an important symbol of India’s emergence as a vaccine superpower. Apart from this, the company said that 25,800 people were tested during the third phase of the trial. In this phase the company stated that 25,800 participants between the ages of 18–98 were included, including 2,433 aged over 60 and 4,500 with co-morbidities. Not only this, this indigenous vaccine is equally heavy on the new form of Corona found in Britain. The company said that after the third stage results, it has been proven that covaxin is effective against coronaviruses. This vaccine is also proving to be effective against other variants of coronavirus that are rapidly emerging. According to the ICMR, it is an older method of preparing the vaccine, which is WHO-accredited. According to the information, this type of vaccine is considered completely safe.
