On Tuesday, the Supreme Court stayed the arrest of senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and journalist Rajdeep Sardesai and other senior journalists in the violence in the farmers’ tractor rally on Republic Day.Explain that an FIR was registered against Congress Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor and six journalists in five states on charges of misleading tweet about violence and death of a protestor during a farmers’ tractor rally in Delhi on Republic Day.
These cases were reported in Gurgaon, Bengaluru and Noida. Earlier, four similar cases were also reported in different districts of Madhya Pradesh. Cases have been registered against most of them under sections of sedition, intimidation, inciting to disturb public peace, criminal conspiracy, hurt religious sentiments.
At the same time, an FIR was lodged in the Delhi High Court on the complaint of Central Government lawyer Chiranjeev Kumar. The complainant said in his complaint that the accused spread fake news on 26 January in Delhi over the death of protestor Navreet Singh.
