Over the last week, a viral illness presumed to be dengue has killed over 40 individuals in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, including 32 children. On Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid a visit to the town’s government hospital to assess treatment progress and dengue prevention measures.

According to the commissioner, some deaths have also been recorded in Mathura, which is part of the Agra division. Scrub typhus, a vector-borne disease similar to dengue, but caused by bacteria rather than viruses, was blamed for these deaths.
