Since he is a Kashmiri Pandit, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Friday that Jammu & Kashmir holds a particular place in his heart. Rahul, who is in Jammu for a two-day visit, stated that his Kashmiri roots make him feel at ease whenever he visits the region.
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi promised to help his “Kashmiri Pandit brothers.” He said that he is a member of the Kashmiri Pandit group and understands their suffering. Soon after the eruption of violence in the region in the early 1990s, Kashmiri Pandits were compelled to move to Jammu and other states. Gandhi slammed the BJP-led federal government, accusing it of making false promises to Kashmiri Pandits.
