The monsoon will not arrive in this region of India for another week, putting any hope of relief at risk. Later in the week, some light rain is anticipated in the national capital area, providing some reprieve from the high heat.
Heat wave conditions are expected throughout Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, north Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh in the next two days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
