Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday that they will initiate financial help to the children who have lost both their parents in this pandemic. As these children have lost the earning members of the family, the government will totally help them in their upbringing and also bear the cost of their studies.
He said that in the past 24 hours, the state has recorded around 8,500 cases which is a good news as compared to the cases in April. The state recorded more than 28,000 cases on April 20. He also added that the positivity rate has come down to 12 per cent as compared to 36 per cent on April 22. But the fight against the pandemic is not over and there is no space for leniency, he further added.
The Chief Minister said,”I know many children who have lost both their parents. I want to tell them that I am still there. Do not consider yourself an orphan. The government will take care of their studies and upbringing. I know elderly citizens who have lost their children. They depended on their earnings. I want to tell them that their son Arvind Kejriwal is alive. The government will help all such families who have lost their earning members.”
The Chief Minister also said that the lower positivity rate is a sign that lesser number of people are being ill and the number of people admitted in the hospitals are also decreasing on a daily basis. Despite this, he also warned the Delhiites to take strict precautions as any leniency would result to increasing the numbers. Concludingly, he added that the lockdown needs be implemented strictly to ensure the safety of the citizens.
