Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said – partnership with private industry to promote startup

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Bengaluru capital of Karnataka on Friday to participate in the Start Ape Marathon organized under Aero India 2021. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said, our government is fully conscious that there is an urgent need to bring startups in defense manufacturing sector. He said that keeping this goal in mind, several steps have been taken in partnership with private industry.
Addressing the Start App Marathon, the Defense Minister said that at least 1200 startups and innovators have participated in the Defense India Startup Challenge DISC this time. Of these, at least 60 startups are in 30 technical areas under DISC challenges.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh further said that the Aero Indio show held this time was attended by at least 45 small, cottage and medium industries (MSME) businessmen, who have already received orders of at least 203 crore.
