Dead Turtles Float To Shore Post Ship Sink In Sri Lanka

On the beaches of Sri Lanka hundreds, dead tortoises were washed up, which environmental experts have described as one of the biggest natural catastrophes of the nation. At least four whales, 20 dolphins and 176 turtles were reported to have died in June, weeks after a cargo ship developed a fire and sunk off the country’s west coast.

Wildlife officials removed off the container ship, which continued to fire for over two weeks outside Sri Lanka, the remains of dead sea turtles and dolphin killed by chemistry toxins and severe heat. In collaboration with the Indian Coast Guard, Navy and Air Force of Sri Lanka worked to finally fire.
