West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday extended Covid-related restrictions in the state till July 15. The chief minister also announced certain relaxations in the new guidelines.
As per the new guidelines, private buses in the state will operate at 50% capacity.
Also, offices have been allowed to open with 50% manpower.
Similarly, salons and gyms are also allowed to function with 50% capacity.
“Salons, beauty parlours allowed to open from 11am to 6pm with 50% seating capacity provided staff has been vaccinated. Gyms to be allowed with 50% capacity,” the chief minister said.
Social gatherings such as weddings would be allowed with a maximum of 50 people, Banerjee said, urging people to continue wearing masks and maintaining social distance.
The government also allowed vegetable markets to remain open from 6 am to 12 pm.
The restrictions, imposed on May 16, were last extended till June 30.
