Coronavirus Update: 1.73 lakh new cases, 3,617 deaths

While deaths still number more than 3000, the daily positivity rate has hit a new low.

Coronavirus Update: 1.73 lakh new cases, 3,617 deaths

The country recorded 1.73 Lakh new cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest in last 45 days. Active caseload has come down to 22,28,724 and recovery rate has gone up to 90.8%.

Deaths, however, still crossed the 3000-mark, with 3,617 deaths. India’s total caseload now stands at 27,729,247, while total fatalities are at 322,512, according to MoHFW. The positivity rate has come down to 8.35%.

Tamil Nadu is leading the state list with 31,079 cases. It is followed by Karnataka with 22,823, Kerala with 22,318, Maharashtra with 20,740, and Andhra Pradesh with 14,429.

The six top states by total cases are Maharashtra (5,692,920), Karnataka (2,546,821), Kerala (2,470,872), Tamil Nadu (2,009,700), Uttar Pradesh (1,686,267), and Andhra Pradesh (1,657,986).
