Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt’s claims of “love and narcotic jihad” in Pala were criticized by the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Friday, with the KPCC working president noting that the remarks have “badly impacted the social fabric” of the state.

Reiterating that the Bishop of the Pala Diocese’s views is unacceptable, Thomas stated that such remarks will impair the state’s communal unity. Bishop Kallarangatt had before said that in Kerala, young females were falling prey to “love and narcotic jihad,” and that such tactics were being utilized to eliminate non-Muslims.
