According to a new study, China erased early data on the novel coronavirus Sars-CoV-2 in an effort to disguise its presence, obstructing the inquiry into its beginnings. Over a dozen coronavirus test samples collected during the early months of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) epidemic were deleted from an international database intended to follow the virus’ development, according to a research source.
According to the article, Jesse Bloom, a virologist and evolutionary biologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, discovered a data file containing Sars-CoV-2 sequences that had been removed from the National Institutes of Health’s Sequence Database.
