The country’s general budget is being presented in Parliament on Monday from 11 am. Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur reached the Finance Ministry and held a meeting with the officials. After this, both went to Rashtrapati Bhavan and took permission from the President to present the budget there. Currently held a cabinet meeting in Parliament House. Before the Budget was presented, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has expressed his hopes for the General Budget.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted and appealed to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), farmers and laborers to generate employment in the country. It has also sought to increase healthcare spending to save lives amid epidemics. Rahul Gandhi has requested an increase in defense spending to protect the borders with it.
