Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit Delhi later in the month as political campaigning in the capital city ramps up ahead of the 2024 national elections, according to reports. This is Ms Banerjee’s first trip since her crushing victory in the Bengal assembly polls in May. The win, accomplished in the face of the power of the BJP electoral apparatus, has sparked anticipation that she may play a larger role in the democratic front in the next national election.
According to sources, Ms Banerjee will contact a few opposition figures during her 4 days visit, which include Congress’s Sonia Gandhi, Nationalist Congress Party’s Sharad Pawar, Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav, Aam Aadmi Party’s and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and many others.
