On Tuesday, Hindu groups descended on Delhi’s Qutb Minar, demanding that the renowned landmark be renamed Vishnu Stambh. Activists from the Mahakal Manav Sewa and other right-wing groups were seen waving placards and shouting slogans at the Qutb Minar, which has been designated as a Unesco World Heritage Site.
While camping near the Qutb Minar, the protesters also recited the Hanuman Chalisa. Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP has demanded that the names of other national capital sites such as Akbar Road, Humayun Road, Aurangzeb Lane, and Tughlak Lane be changed because they are named after Mughal kings.
