On Thursday, the White House announced President Joe Biden’s intention to share COVID-19 vaccinations with the world and to direct 75% of overdoses through the global vaccine-sharing program of COVAX endorsed by the United Nations (UN).
By the end of June, America has already indicated its intention to provide 80 million doses of vaccines worldwide. The government says 25 percent of the doses in crises would be maintained in reserve and that the U.S. would share with allies and partners.
As demand for US shots fell dramatically, the long-awaited plan for vaccine sharing dropped, more than 63% of Americans received a dosage of at least one, and worldwide supply inequalities became more pronounced.
