The broad reach of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh has been the basis of many leaders and activists from other parties and now the BJP has started making a political dent in the family of the top leadership of the Samajwadi Party.
The party has started this by giving the ticket of Ward Panchayat member from ward number 18 to Sandhya Yadav, outgoing vice-president of the district panchayat in Mainpuri.
Sandhya Yadav is the niece of Mulayam Singh, the founder president of Samajwadi Party, the daughter of his elder brother Abhairam Yadav and sister of Dharmendra Yadav, a former SP MP from Badaun.
Sandhya Yadav had won the election of the District Panchayat President on the Samajwadi Party ticket in the year 2015, but this time she has joined the BJP.
Sandhya Yadav’s husband Anujesh Pratap Yadav says that despite being a relative of the top leadership, the party did not honor him, so first he and now his wife have joined the BJP.
Anujesh Pratap Yadav says, “There is nothing new in this. I joined the BJP in the year 2017 itself and while I am here, and my wife does not mean to be in any other party. When the motion of no confidence against us If brought, it was the BJP that helped us and increased our respect. I was in the Samajwadi Party on my own free will, nobody was a slave. “
Sandhya Yadav became the district panchayat president of Mainpuri in 2015. In July 2017, the Samajwadi Party had brought a motion of no confidence against her, but due to manipulation, the no-confidence motion could not be passed.
