A seventeen-year-old girl along with four of her male friends has been accused of killing her mother and making the death appear like a suicide at their home in the Uttarahalli area of Bengaluru according to police reports.

The victim identified as Netravathi aged thirty five was employed as a helper at a loan recovery company The incident took place on October twenty fifth and came to light after the girl went missing from home shortly after her mother’s death Raising doubts Netravathi’s sister filed a complaint at the Subramanyapura police station which led to the registration of a murder case.During investigation officers discovered that the teenagers had allegedly strangled Netravathi with a towel and later hung her body from a ceiling fan using a saree to make it appear as if she had taken her own life before escaping from the scene.

According to initial findings Netravathi had recently found out that her daughter was in a relationship with a boy who frequently visited their house She had warned him to stay away and objected to their relationship The two had reportedly met through the girl’s cousin.

Police sources stated that the murder plan was made by the boyfriend after the two were caught together at home on the same day The investigation confirmed that the girl actively participated in the act.

Authorities have detained five minors including the girl and her four male friends in connection with the murder They have been placed in a juvenile home while further investigation continues.
