Mukul Arya, India’s envoy to Palestine, died on Sunday in Ramallah, according to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. “Deeply shocked to read of the loss of Shri Mukul Arya, India’s Representative in Ramallah,” Jaishankar tweeted. “He was a brilliant and skilled officer who had a lot on his plate. My heart breaks for his family and friends. Om Shanti.”
“We heard with great surprise and astonishment the devastating news of the Ambassador of the Republic of India to the State of Palestine, Mukul Arya, and we convey profound regret, loss, and anguish at his demise,” the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants stated in a release.
