Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier in the day, shortly before a planned conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to official sources, as several Indians remain stuck in the conflict zone. According to official sources, the two presidents spoke over the phone for around 35 minutes regarding the unfolding Ukraine crisis.
According to reports, PM Modi expressed appreciation for the “ongoing direct conversation between Russia and Ukraine” and appreciated President Zelensky for his country’s assistance in removing Indians from Ukraine. “Prime Minister Modi requested sustained help from the Ukrainian government in the continuing rescue of Indian people from Sumy,” the sources added.
