The Congress party in Goa is riven by infighting, with prominent officials on the verge of defecting to the Trinamool Congress. Following in the footsteps of former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro, who is expected to join TMC on Wednesday. Senior attorney Antonio Clovis Costa would formally join the party in West Bengal on the same day.
The South Goa Advocates Association is led by Costa. During the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, he was important in filing a PIL requesting immediate intervention and relief at Goa Medical College, where numerous patients died purportedly due to a lack of oxygen.
