Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi and Principal Secretary, Health Amit Mohan Prasad held a press conference in Lok Bhawan here on Sunday regarding measures being undertaken to fight Corona virus infection. The Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that no landlord would charge a month’s rent from a worker or labourer. On receiving any such complaint, the police will take strict action against the landlord who took the rent. He said that the Chief Minister has also instructed that private enterprises and organisations should give one month’s salary to their employees without any deduction. This should be done by opening the offices on March 30 and 31, the salary should be sent to the accounts of the employees.
The Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that the Chief Minister has directed that people who have come from outside the state should be screened at district level and kept in quarantine. Along with this, he has appealed to the citizens of Uttar Pradesh to stay in whatever state they are in and follow the lockdown. He said that the Chief Minister has also directed that extra food packets should be prepared in the police line, so that if people need food, it can be distributed to them.
The Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that the Chief Minister held a meeting with the nodal officers appointed for different states today. During this, he inquired about the people of Uttar Pradesh living in other states. Along with this, he also asked the officials concerned to solve the problems of people then and there who are calling up from other states. He said that nodal officers of some other states have been appointed today. Prabhat Kumar Sarangi has been appointed for Orissa, M. Devraj for Tamil Nadu, LV Anthony Dev Kumar for Kerala and Sanjay Goyal and PC Meena for the North East. Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that the Chief Minister has also ordered that the relief package of the Government of India should be carried forward in the first week of April under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Finance.
Additional Chief Secretary said that the committee constituted under the chairmanship of APC has so far allocated 4 thousand 935 metric tonnes of wheat through FCI. Total of 19,941 mobile vans and 21,376 handcarts have been arranged for the delivery of fruits and vegetables at door step. He said that 21 lakh 28 thousand litres of milk have been purchased through government dairies. Along with this, 17 lakh 13 thousand litres of milk has been distributed. Besides, 850 community kitchens have been opened to provide free food. The maximum price of essential commodities is being determined. It has also been implemented in many districts.
No case of community spread has been reported yet: Principal Secretary Health
Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that all the cases that have been reported so far in the state can be traced back. No case of community spread has been reported yet. Total of 68 cases of Corona virus infection have been reported in the state, of which 14 patients have completely recovered and discharged. Rest of 54 patients are being treated in various medical colleges and district hospitals of the state. We are constantly monitoring Noida and Ghaziabad. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, senior officer Dr. AP Chaturvedi has been posted for a month to monitor all the conditions in Noida and Ghaziabad and get the work done promptly. CMO and CMS will report cases related to Corona virus for both the districts, he added.
Principal Secretary Health said that 8 laboratories are functional in the state. A total of 2,284 samples were sent for testing, of which, report of 2,171 samples was negative and 45 samples are still under testing stage. Number of Isolation and quarantine beds are being continuously increased. Along with this, the government is going to purchase 200 ventilators, he said.
Principal Secretary Health said that level 1 hospitals are ready in all the districts, which are dedicated Covid hospitals in CHCs. The work of Level-2 hospital will be completed in three-four days. Level-3 hospitals are being prepared in 6-7 places in the state, where ventilators are available in sufficient numbers. Serious patients will get treatment in these hospitals. The private sector hospital will also be converted into a dedicated Covid hospital. Discussions on this are going on with such hospitals. Many private hospitals had offered us a proposal about this. We are also making their package, he said.
