The majority of the Taliban force in Badakhshan province, which borders Chinese Xinjiang via the Wakhan corridor, is made up of Tajiks, Uzbeks, Hazara, and Chechen fighters, not Pashtuns. These non-Pashtun elements will join the nucleus of Panjshir resistance in the future if the Taliban start abusing Afghan minorities.
