Late last night , at a slum in Mumbai’s Malad a double storey apartment building collapsed on another structure killing 11 people among which 8 were children.
Many are still feared trapped under the debris and evacuation operations are underway, officials said. “ Total 18 injured were reported , of which 11 people were brought dead,” a doctor from the hospital told NDTV. “Police will carry out a proper investigation and take further action,” senior officer Dilip Sawant told local media. “Buildings have collapsed due to rain.
Rescue operation is underway. Injured people have been shifted to the hospital . Debris of the building is being removed to see if more people are stuck under it,” Maharashtra state minister Aslam Shaikh said.
