UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 55, revealed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus, making him the second major world leader after Prince Charles,known to have contracted the disease. He posted a video on Friday morning on Twitter and stated that he has a temperature and cough.“I am working from home, I’m self isolating, and that’s entirely the right thing to do,” he said. “But be in no doubt that I can continue… to communicate with all my top team and lead the national fightback against coronavirus.”
He’s self isolating but will continue to lead govt’s response to outbreak. Boris is the first PM in the world to be infected with COVID-19.
A Downing Street spokesman said “The prime minister was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty,” the spokesman said.
“The test was carried out in No 10 by NHS staff and the result of the test was positive,” the spokesman said.
