The Congress Working Committee “unanimously reaffirmed” trust in president Sonia Gandhi’s governance four hours after a major conference on Sunday, and urged for large-scale changes and remedial steps for an institutional makeover. According to a statement made after the meeting to discuss the party’s electoral catastrophe in five states, the CWC advised Sonia Gandhi to address vulnerabilities and make required reforms.
The Congress’ highest decision-making body has come up with a plan and would convene a ‘chinatan shivir’ soon after parliament’s cabinet meeting, following which the CWC will convene again, according to general secretary KC Venugopal.
