Actor politician Shatrughan Sinha and his wife Poonam Sinha met Hema Malini to ask about the wellbeing of Dharmendra, whom Sinha referred to as an elder brother. Dharmendra, who is eighty nine has been facing health challenges and spent several weeks at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, before being discharged on November 12. He is currently continuing treatment at home.
After false reports about his death, circulated in a section of the media, the family released a statement, confirming that the veteran actor was recovering and requested privacy during this period.

Sinha posted a picture with Hema Malini and Poonam Sinha on X, expressing their concern for Dharmendra and their prayers for the family. He described Hema Malini, as a cherished family friend and praised her contributions as an artist and parliamentarian.
Sinha and Dharmendra have worked together in several films including, Dost, Hum Se Na Takrana, Aag Hi Aag, Blackmail, Zalzala, and Loha. Sinha has also shared the screen with Hema Malini in films such as, Naseeb, Mulzim, Aandhi Toofan and Dost.
