The Steel Authority of India has decided to ‘dissolve’ its headquarters in Kolkata, a decision which would put a hardship on contractual staff linked with the unit.
However, there has yet to be an official notification to that effect. “The Board of Directors resolved to disband the RMD and transfer the responsibility of its mining operations to the Rourkela Steel Works, (Odisha).”
SAIL’s mines in Odisha will be administratively controlled by RSP, and those in Jharkhand would be the responsibility of BSP.
