A Pakistan International Airlines flight from Lahore has crashed near the Karachi airport. Reports in Pakistan media say the flight, which had 91 passengers on board, was an Airbus A320, which crashed minutes before landing.
CAA sources said that its communication with the plane one minute before its landing was cut off.
The Pakistan Army Quick Reaction Force & Pakistan Rangers Sindh troops arrived at the crash site shortly to assist the civil administration in relief and rescue efforts.
Several homes were damaged as the crash took place in the residential area.
