The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UPSTF) has arrested two members of The Popular Front of India (PFI) from Lucknow while carrying out the Afal operation. The arrested agents, Asad Badruddin and Firoz Khan, have told that they planned to carry out serial blasts in different parts of the country on the occasion of Vasant Panchami. Both of them hail from Kerala and their targets were big Hindu leaders and Hindu religious places of the country. According to Additional Director General of Police Law and Order Prashant Kumar, both of them have confessed in interrogation that on the occasion of Vasant Panchami, they were going to blast together at many prominent places across the country. On their target, they were planning to attack big officials of major Hindu organizations together. A large quantity of explosives have been recovered from them. These explosives were to be distributed among many others and the events were to be executed. Among the arrested youth, Badruddin is the commander of the PFI while Feroz is the trainer of the realities. These were supposed to deliver explosives to other agents who were simultaneously targeting Hindu leaders and temples in many areas of the state and the country.Police have said that their targets were Hindu leaders and temples of UP. Explosive material has also been recovered from both the accused. Along with the detonator and the shocking documents have also been found, the relationship of these two has been told to PFI. 16 high quality explosive devices have been received from them and 32 bore pistols have also been found. These people were planning to attack many important sensitive places of UP and big office bearers of Hindu organizations to wage war against the government of the country and were also making strong members of special category. ADG Prashant Kumar told that it is not right to tell which leaders were on his target.
