 Karn of Mahabharat, the beloved TV star Pankaj Dheer breathed his last following a prolonged illness.

Veteran television actor Pankaj Dheer, celebrated for his unforgettable portrayal of Karna in B.R. Chopra’s epic series Mahabharat and as King Shiv Dutt in the fantasy show Chandrakanta, has passed away at the age of 68.

According to filmmaker and close friend Ashoke Pandit, the actor succumbed to cancer earlier this morning after months of fluctuating health and hospital visits.

“Pankaj ji had been in and out of the hospital for some time. He passed away this morning due to cancer,” Pandit confirmed while speaking to PTI.

The last rites are scheduled to be performed later today.

Dheer leaves behind his wife, Anita Dheer, and son, actor Nikitin Dheer, known for his roles in both television and Bollywood films.
