After the severe cyclonic storm Tauktae, the country is facing a new threat of cyclonic storm. The cyclone is very likely to hit the coasts of West Bengal and Odisha by May 26-27. The India Meteorological department  gave the information on Wednesday.

The MeT department also said that a low-pressure area is to form over the north Andaman sea and the east-central Bay of Bengal. The depression holds the capability to intensify into a cyclonic storm which will form from May 21.

The Cyclone warning division of the IMD said,”It is very likely to intensify gradually into a cyclonic storm during the subsequent 72 hours. It is very likely to move northwestwards and reach West Bengal- Odisha coasts around May 26 evening”.

Other atmospheric and oceanic conditions like favourable environment for the movement. Furthermore, Sea surface temperatures are also favourable at the time to form persistent clouds. These conditions will help in the formation of the cyclonic storm from May 22. The fishermen and the boats will be instructed not to move out in the sea from May 22.
