Nepal’s interim Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated on Monday that Yoga evolved in Nepal, stressing that India was not present when Yoga first appeared in the globe. Mr. Oli made the remarks while speaking at an event commemorating International Yoga Day at his home in Baluwatar. He further alleged that Indian experts were withholding information about it.
Since its establishment in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, the International Day of Yoga has been observed yearly on June 21. Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the date of 21 June in his UN address since it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has particular importance in many areas of the world.
