Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hosted a dinner for Members of Parliament from the National Democratic Alliance at his residence in New Delhi. The MPs travelled to 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in groups, boarding buses arranged for the visit. The gathering took place shortly after the NDA achieved a sweeping victory in the Bihar assembly elections, where the coalition secured 202 seats in the 243 member assembly.
Among the alliance partners, the BJP won 89 seats, the JD U secured 85, the LJP Ram Vilas won 19, the Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular gained five, and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha won four. On Monday, NDA leaders from Bihar met the prime minister to congratulate him on the coalition’s decisive victory. During the interaction, Modi encouraged them to work with renewed vigour for the welfare of the citizens, stressing that great responsibility accompanies a great victory.
Addressing the NDA parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, the prime minister emphasised that no innocent person in the country should face harassment or inconvenience due to any law or regulation. He added that every measure should be designed to ease the lives of common people and ensure their convenience.
