Lovlina Borgohain bags bronze on Olympic debut

Lovlina Borgohain loses 0-5 to Turkish Surmeneli in the boxing 67 kg semi-finals.
The Turkish boxer was dominant from the get go but was sharper in the last round, not allowing the Indian to come back  after the latter was trailing following the first two rounds.
Lovlina has done India proud to bring home bronze on her Olympics debut.
Surnelli continues to dominate and lands a solid punch on Lovlina. The Turkish lands back-to-back punches on Lovlina’s face. The Indian tries hard but the result was written on the wall.
The Turkish wins the welterweight bout unanimously 5-0.
The Turkish is in control of the bout in the 2nd round as she lands 4 punches on Lovlina.
Lovlina tries to land somebody punches but are not on target.  The Turkish is landing the punches on Lovlina’s face. Lovlina fights back with three left jabs. Wonderful come back.
Lovlina lands a punch after the call to stop and she may lose a point.
The Turkish wins the 2nd round unanimously too and Lovlina has lost a point.
Lovlina started with 2 uppercuts as she looks fearless. She had a slow start but is now throwing her punches. She was not holding back she throws a solid punch. The Turkish jabs one into Lovlina’s face and after round 1 the Turkish wins the first round.
India’s Lovlina takes on reigning World champion Busenaz Surmeneli of Turkey, whose entry was dramatic as she does the Cristiano Ronaldo jump as she enters the ring.
Out comes Lovlina flashing a big smile. Come on!
