Foreign Minister S Jaishankar held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Thursday. According to the information, the two discussed about the military withdrawal in eastern Ladakh and the Moscow agreement.Jaishankar said in a tweet, “Talked to Foreign Minister (of China) Wang Yi this afternoon. We discussed our Moscow agreement and the state of military withdrawal. ‘ Under this military withdrawal, India’s army has returned to Finger 3. At the same time, China’s army has returned to the Finger 8 area. However, India has not given up any claim on the territory with the retreat. It is noteworthy that the military standoff between the two countries has been nine months. There have been 10 rounds of Corps Commander-level talks between the two sides so far. Following the agreement, both sides have withdrawn their troops from the northern and southern end areas of Pangong Lake and have also removed weapons, other military equipment, bunkers and other construction. Earlier on Wednesday, Army Chief General MM Narwane said that the withdrawal of the forces of India and China from the northern and southern shores of Paigong Lake was the best result. He had said that it is a beneficial situation for both sides. He said that a strategy has also been chalked out to address other pending issues in East Ladakh.
