Israeli President, Reuven Rivlin has praised the “generosity and kind-heartedness” of the Indian caregiver. The Indian woman was killed during the Hamas rocket attack.
Soumya Santosh was from Kerala’s Idukki district and was a caregiver professional. She was attending an old woman at a house in the Southern Israeli coastal city of Ashkelon. She died in a rocket attack from Gaza while she was talking to her husband on May 11.
Mr. Rivlin called her family on Wednesday and expressed his condolences. He said that he hopes they would find comfort in her “generosity and kind-heartedness”.
A statement from the Presidency said,”President of Israel Reuven Rivlin spoke earlier this week with the family of Soumya Santosh, an Indian citizen working as a caregiver in Israel, who was killed in rocket fire on Ashkelon on Tuesday (May 11)”. The Israeli President tweeted and expressed deep condolences to the families of foreign workers for their “tragic deaths”.
On behalf of the State of #Israel and its people I told Soumya Santosh’s husband Santhosh I hope he finds comfort in the love, the generosity and the kindheartedness she gave to others in need.
