Times Group chairman Indu Jain, died on Thursday night. She was hospitalised after deteriorating health. On her death, well known people of the country have expressed condolence. Indu Jain, born in 1936, was not only the head of the largest media group in the country, but also a dedicated social worker, thinker and a spiritual figure.
People who came in her contact were deeply impressed by her compassion and affection. She was awarded with Padma Bhushan in 2016 for her remarkable contribution. It was in the spirit of philanthropy, that she launched Times Foundation in year 2000, which runs a number of community services, research foundation and relief funds. She was also the President of Bhartiya Gyanpith Foundation, which conferred the Gyanpith Award on outstanding work in the field of literature.
