Imran Khan was ousted as Prime Minister of Pakistan in the early hours of Sunday after losing a no-confidence motion in the Pakistan National Assembly. The National Assembly meeting, which started at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday, has been postponed many times. The House will reconvene at 2 p.m. on April 11 to pick a new Prime Minister. Before the vote, Speaker Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri quit.
Imran Khan, who was elected Into power in 2018, was subjected to a no-confidence vote, which was mostly based on allegations of economic failure. Hardly a Pakistani prime minister has ever served for the whole five-year tenure.
