The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that rainfall activity is expected to diminish over the west coast soon. The development comes amid torrential downpours, widespread floods, and landslides raging havoc in the state, with hundreds of deaths so far and scores of people still missing.
IMD also predicts the rainfall activity to surge from today in other states in North India including Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand. The official report further said that apart from these states, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand till Tuesday, over Haryana from Monday to Tuesday and over Punjab from Tuesday to Wednesday next week.
