A private hospital in Gorakhpur was sealed by the orders of the District Magistrate after it was found that they were charging a massive amount of fees to a covid patient. DM Vijendra Pandiyan ordered on Wednesday that the hospital should be sealed after a complaint was filed against it at the commissioner zone office.
A case was also registered against the hospital’s manager Saurabh Kumar and a staff member Rajesh Jaiswal under the IPC of the epidemic act.
As per the officials’ report, Udai Pratap Singh had filed a complaint that his sister-in-law who was affected by the Covid-19 virus was admitted in hospital on April 30 for only four hours was charged a huge amount of Rs. 51,000. He also added that the hospital made the bill for two days and also demanded Rs. 20,000 extra apart from the bill.
