On Thursday, M. Prasannan, former international footballer, died in Mumbai. He was seventy-three. He shared his dressing room with Indian soccer luminaries such as Inder Singh and Doraiswamy Natraj, as a talented midfielder of the 1970s. In the Santosh Trophy National Football Championship, he played for Kerala, Maharashtra and Goa. Prasannan, led by PK Banerjee, and Inder Singh captain in the Merdeka Cup in 1973, belonged to the Indian side. In the 5th place playoff, India finally fell to the south of Vietnam, he scored a goal.
Like the subsequent Brazilian Socrates, the barbed Prasannan donned a typical headband as he went into the field.
