A sensational racket involving the creation of fake Aadhaar cards has been busted, with eight people arrested across multiple states. The accused were reportedly running a highly sophisticated operation, using biometric manipulation to generate Aadhaar identities for illegal immigrants.

According to investigators, the group charged hefty fees for each fake Aadhaar, which was later used for opening bank accounts, acquiring SIM cards, and even obtaining government benefits. Police have also found evidence linking the gang to cross-border human trafficking syndicates.

The arrests have reignited concerns about the vulnerabilities in India’s Aadhaar system, which is considered the world’s largest biometric database. UIDAI officials have assured citizens that new security layers are being introduced to prevent future frauds.
