Devendra Fadnavis, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, reacted on Monday to allegations made by Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik that he ran a drug cartel in Mumbai during his tenure as the state’s chief minister. Fadnavis stated that after Diwali, he will present evidence of Nawab Malik’s ties to the underworld.

“Those who have relations with the underworld should not speak about me,” news agency ANI quoted Fadnavis as saying. Malik also questioned the connection between Fadnavis and a drug peddler named Jaydeep Rana, claiming that the man is friendly with Fadnavis.
