An elderly muslim man was brutally assualted and beaten up by some miscreants in Loni area of Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad while he was on his way to offer prayers at a mosque on june 5. The video of this incident has gone viral over the social media.  

“I was on my way when I was offered a lift. Two more men then got inside the auto rickshaw and told me to stay. Then they took me to a room and locked me up and thrashed me. They forced me to chant slogans…they took my mobile away… they got a knife and cut my beard,” a visibly traumatised Mr.Samad said. 

They reportedly shouted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and “vande mataram” and forced him to shout as well, as they punched and hit him with wooden sticks. 

The attackers also reportedly called him a “pakistani sky” and chopped off his beard with scissors. After the incident came to light, the Ghaziabad police registered a case and arrested one person named pravesh gujjair in this regard, and launched a search to nab other attackers. Atul Kumar Sonakar , a senior police officer from Loni said “required steps” were being taken.
