Kathmandu: According to the media reports, patients in Nepal are gasping for breath, as authorities said they were facing an acute shortage of oxygen due to which 16 people infected with Covid-19 died recently.
So far, the deadly virus has infected 4,13,111 people and claimed 4,084 lives in the nation, where the population is approximately 29.5 million.
On Wednesday, government asked the private hospitals to install their own oxygen plans within 15 days to fulfill the need of oxygen which may save the lives of people suffering from coronavirus.
The government has estimated that around 15,000 oxygen cylinders are needed to meet the current demandof oxygen, but currently there are around 8000 oxygen cylinders in the country.
