Covid-19 cases has dropped to 54,419 in India

India’s daily tally of coronavirus disease has dropped below 60,000 today. Union Health Ministry has reported 54,419 fresh cases reported in the last 24 hours.

India’s daily tally of coronavirus disease has dropped below 60,000 today. Union Health Ministry has reported 54,419 fresh cases reported in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 29,881,965. This was the lowest number of cases reported since March 30.

The official report stated that 1,576 people have reported dying and 87,619 people are recovered from the disease. As of now the total number of deaths are 386,713 and 28,766,009 people have recovered from Covid-19 disease. The daily recoveries continued to outnumber the new cases for the 38th consecutive day. The active cases drenched to 729,243 and constitute 2.55% of the caseload.

Today’s fresh cases count 2,334 which is less than Saturday’s. On Saturday 60,753 new cases have reportedly registered. The number of fatalities on Sunday was 71 less than that of Saturday’s when 1,647 people reportedly died due to the viral disease. , the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)  quoted in a leading daily that the cumulative Covid-19 testing figures stand at 391,019,083, adding 1,811,446 samples were tested in the previous 24 hours.

As the daily Covid-19 tally in India has been coming down since May 7, many states are lifting lockdowns and allowing the opening of shops, malls and restaurants till 9 pm on weekdays. In Uttar Pradesh, the curfew will now be from 9 pm to 7 am. Telangana is completely lifting lockdown today, seeing the improvement of the overall situation.
